(These coils will NOT replace single tower coils) -Using a volt meter or 12V test light, hook the positive lead to the positive post and the negative lead to the ground on one of the stock coils. -Turn the ignition on, but DO NOT engage the starter button -If there are 12V at the coil, the motorcycle has an inductive type ignition. If there is no voltage at the coil, then the motorcycle has a CDI ignition because the power goes to the control box first

Comments about Accel Super CDI Coil Kit:
After reading the recommended procedure to determine if these coils were right for my 1995 Kawasaki GPz 1100. I purchased them. After several hours of modification to fit them on my bike, i started her up and headed down the road. About 15 mins later she died and hasn't run since. Upon later inspection it was determined that the .7 ohm resistance compared to my factory 3 ohm resistance coils caused 15 total amps to rush through my CDI box, DESTROYING IT! Bike Bandit will not refund your money nor help in any other way! I now have a [$] paper weight kit and need a $383 CDI Box. Make sure your primary coil windings are close to the .7 ohm Accel coils or you will be replacing your CDI box.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
