Universal - fits but not perfectly
from Berlin, NH
I have a 78 Yamaha SR500. If I were to remove mine or to install one on another, same bike, I will remove the little bulge on the bottom inside near the fork clamps, as is it hits the fork tube clamp. Clamps don't fit the forks. Needed to add an additional rubber around fork to get a tight fit. The winged screws that hold the rod from the winshield to the handlebar clamps don't stay tight. I will be replacing them with cap screws. Before I rode only in good warm weather, the windshield (along with chaps) allows me to ride comfortably in cool weather. This is one of those universal products that fit almost everything, but don't really fit anything. That said I would buy it again especially since, as far as I know there is no other option for my bike.

Great Value For The Money
from Spencer, Wis.
My Bike Came with a similar windshield when I bought it & was in need of replacement. I chose this product, because it was darn close to what I had on it. Al little tricky to install, but patience played in a successful installation. Be sure you indicate your handlebar size when ordering to be on the safe side, as I had to send my clamps back to the manufacturer to get ones for larger diamater handlebars. Windshield does exactly what it should & provides excellent coverage.Have had on bike for a bit over 2 years, & am pleased with its functionability. I did have to use additional material around the lower fork clamps to get a tighter fit so they would stay in one place. On the cooler days, it would be nice to have a means to close the large open gap I have around My headlight. I did have to file down the sides a bit to create a gap, as shield was tight against upper part of forks & had an anoying squeak going over bad road bumps. Take care & pre-soak when cleaning, reduces risk of scratching - a soap/water mix in a spray bottle helps considerably - especially for cleaning bugs off the surface. The best proof of how well this product gave coverage to both bike & rider came last week when I came in contact with a deer from the right side. The shield protected Me & the bike from serious injury/damage. The lower part of the shield got broken & the turn signal got damaged, was all that the bike suffered in damage. Myself, am fine & am glad I had this shield on the bike - If I had not, I feel the bike would have got tipped & damaged severly from being tipped over & myself injured as well - for the most part, the shield took the impact. I've ordered the same replacement shield for it again - I'm SOLD on this product!!!!
