    Nice But Install Not Simple

Comments about Slipstreamer SS-32 Falcon Windshield:

Received within 3 - 4 days of order.

The installation instructions were sufficient ... but only because I have some mechanical aptitude and I was replacing a windshield with a similar mounting arrangement (I had a basis for comparison).

Found that the supplied 5/8" and 3/4" screws for attaching the horizontal strap and the two vertical straps to the windshield weren't of sufficient length to engage the nuts (due primarily to the thickness of the rubber grommets and factoring in the curvature of the windshield). Had to purchase additional 3/4" and 1" screws (stainless steel) to replace the 5/8" and 3/4" screws, respectively. Short of using considerable force to both flatten the windshield out and compress the grommets, I'm not sure it would have been possible to have used the supplied hardware as instructed.

Installation definitely requires at least two people, first when installing the fork brackets (someone needs to hold the rubber gasket while the two fork bracket pieces are assembled) then when mounting the windshield assy to the fork brackets.

Helpful (hopefully) hint: When you get a fork bracket installed, put a zip tie through the middle screw hole and pull it tight. That will hold it in place until you mount the windshield and install the screws.

One other note: Consider your bike's config when purchasing this (and other) aftermarket products. The SS-32 is a larger windshield than my original. I failed to consider the position of the aftermarket fork-mounted light bar when I ordered the SS-32 and spent considerable time in relocating it to accomodate the lower "sweep" of the windshield.

Comments about Slipstreamer SS-32 Falcon Windshield:

Bought this for my 2005 Honda Shadow Aero, Instructions were adequate. The only hiccup was the tube clamps, after I threw away the picture in the instructions they went on fine. Though the windshield does not cover the handles it is amazing it still deflects 90% of the wind. Windshield looks good without being to noticeable.
Good design I feel it will last the life of my bike.

Comments about Slipstreamer SS-32 Falcon Windshield:

My Suzuki vs1400 was fun to ride, but without a windshield I couldn't stay on it very long and the wind kept me under 60 mph. Now I can do 80 and ride til I run out of gas. This model windshield looks great and easy to install.

              A:

Thank you for your question! This would not be a detachable windshield as many Memphis Shades branded windshields are due to the trigger lock hardware. This comes with fixed hardware and is not a quick release style for quick removal. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.

2 Q's: Tapered Fork?? Fits Speedometer?

            1) How do I know whether on not I have "Tapered Fork" for V model windshield??

            2) irrespective of that, my Suzi has a Speedometer/Odometer can mounted center-forward of the handlebars, above the headlight. Neither of these pictures shows such. Does this windshield accommodate such?

Thanks for your question. We suggest checking with our Sales Department for assistance getting the correct windshield for your model. Also, like most other websites, BikeBandit.com must use many general photos for aftermarket parts since we have a limited number of photos from the manufacturers. These pictures may not represent the actual product, as these parts can vary per machine.
