Good product, but measure carefully 1st

Comments about Goodridge Universal DOT Brake Line:
In the Q & A section, at least 2 people recommend using the banjo-center to banjo-center length as your primary measurement. I required about 31" for my front brake, and as there is not a 31" available, I ordered the 32" line. I also ordered a pair of banjo end fittings to finish the assembly. The 32" line that I ordered was actually 32", but when the banjo fittings are fixed on the ends (each one is about an inch long), I ended up with a 34" long brake line, a little long. Rather than exchanging the line, I was able to accommodate the extra length with some judicious hose rerouting. However, if I order another one of these, I will request a brake line 2" shorter than my OEM hose. Another thing to consider when figuring out the size needed, is that these brake lines have the threaded female fittings on the ends that are about 1.75" long. Add to that a banjo end that's about a 1" long, and you have a rigid line length of around 2.75" at the ends. My rubber factory lines have 1.75" banjo ends clamped on, then you have flexible hose. This could conceivably factor in if your caliper or master cylinder is in tight quarters. Ordering a banjo end with a different bend angle may make things fit, though. On an upnote, the performance, appearance, and quality of the Goodridge parts are very good. My more recent past streetbikes had double front disc brakes. Now that I've downsized to a GS500E, I've found myself working the single disc front brake REALLY hard at times. The braided brake line gives a more reassuring, firm feel to the brake lever under heavy braking.

Exactly what I needed. Other reviews helped me realize exactly how long a brake line was needed.
Well worth the money!

Originally, I bought a set of pre-made SS braided brake lines for my cafe racer project, a basket case '77 XS750, but I wasn't really satisfied with the pre-fab lines. So, when I bought the rear brake line, I decided to try the Goodrich lines and banjo fittings, and I'm glad I did. In fact, I replaced two of the three pre-fab lines with Goodrich lines and fittings. My brakes required 20 degree bends in the fittings, and of course the pre-fab fittings were bent 180 degrees -- exactly opposite -- of what I needed. Braided SS lines don't twist, so you really need the fittings to line up properly, and this is where the Goodrich lines really shine. The lines have a swivel fitting so you can line up the banjo fittings any way you want (just don't tighten up the swivel fitting before getting it lined up...or, ummm, so I've...uhhh...been told...). When I buy new lines for my V-Strom (soon), they'll be Goodrich.

Works as expected, greatly improving my stopping power. My brake lever does not hit my handle bars under heavy braking anymore.
