EBC XC-Series Contour Rotors. The steel used in the EBC X and XC rotor blades is a special stainless steel blend that boasts up to a 10% improvement in friction effect, over that of normal heat-treated stainless steel found in stock rotors. They also boast up to a 5-10% reduction in total weight, by using a 6 only button drive system on a lightweight alloy center hub. The SD-System™ uses square sided buttons and rivets so that the rotor can expand inwards and outwards, unrestrained and so that rotor functionality is retained at any speed or load; this extends the lifetime of the rotor and prevents distortion failures. Keeping the rotor blade true and flat throughout its life cycle, allows a 5-10 times longer life, compared to a conventional rotor built with circular buttons. Technically, the only reason for replacement would be impact damage, wear over a very extended number of miles and rotor wear

DO NOT BUY THESE!!!
By Tiger Doug

Comments about EBC XC-Series Contour Rotors:
I bought one pair of these last year, and after they had set in with the new pads, I found they were warped. I got good service from Bike Bandit and was able to return them. Unfortunately, I thought that maybe I had gotten just a bad set and ordered another this spring. This time I checked when I put them on, and though one of them was near the limit for run out, I ran them for a few hundred miles to let them set in. After the run in the brakes began the pulsing that is indicative of warping. I tried to get them returned though Bike Bandit and was told I had to contact EBC, because it had been too long. I was assured by Will at EBC that if I sent the receipt information they would take care of me. After sending the information and following up, no response. I would not buy any brake parts from EBC, and I'm wondering if I should still be doing business with Bike Bandit.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Works as advertised

Installed these on a '99 CBR600F4 I recently purchased. Product works as advertised, at least so far. I'm still in the break in period. Nice to have reliable & predictable brakes again. Much cheaper than oem especially if you're an AMA member.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Both of my stock rotors where warped, not sure how that happened, but at 43K miles there were depth ridges forming between disc swept area and non-swept area; they were getting thinner in other words. OEM prices outrageous. so EBC seemed to be a well priced alternative. I put these on my C-14 and followed the break in procedures given by EBC. The braking power is the same as stock but I am experiencing a shudder just before the bike stops completely, maybe a half rotation of the wheel. I can live with it, but wonder why it does it. There is no pulsing just that last millisecond shudder. I thought it might be part of the bedding in process but to date and with over 600 miles on the rotors it appears that it'll be there forever. Otherwise they feel great in all stopping/slowing situations, no different than the stock discs' and so much more affordable.
This is a great product.
