Shorai batteries are about 75% lighter than comparable lead-acid batteries and hold a charge for up to a year without charging or maintenance. LFX Standard Batteries-Is the best overall pick for most applications. Comments about Shorai LiFePO4 LFX Battery LFX18A1:

Had for 2 years in a 05 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R with no problems. Standard Batttery Tender will work as mine's rate is 14.4 volts charging. Shorai recommends 14.8 volts maximum. Cranks motor faster than a lead-acid battery fully-charged (recommended factory battery). I have had no cold-weather usage problems, has always cranked the engine even with 10W/50 oil. Cruiser's, off-roader's, quad's and the like may wish to stay with lead-acid units, weigh the benefits for each type of use. Always follow the Shorai recommendations.

Comments about Shorai LiFePO4 LFX Battery LFX18A1:

The lightweight battery is much different than lead-acid type batteries and must be treated with different care. Some warnings that came in the box: never leave any electrical device on without the bike running for too long, always ensure your electrical system does not charge over 14v, and never put on a battery tender that is not made for LiFePO4. The battery does not come with any balance circuits to ensure it won't break down from use. These batteries are temperamental.
