Bright Light Improvement Over Stock
By The Bike Doc
from Amarillo, TX
Comments about Piaa Super Plasma GTX Bulb:
The PIAA GTX H4 bulb replaced the stock bulb on my 1979 Yamaha XS1100SF (Special). The bulb was significantly brighter and gave a white beam compared to the light yellow beam of the stock light. The low beam gave a good flood pattern with a level top that kept the brighter than stock low beam from blinding oncoming drivers. The high beam provided a decent spot with side flood pattern with good white lighting of the road at highway speeds. Well worth the [$] for the upgrade! I was so happy with it I got another set for my 1982 Yamaha XJ750RJ Seca for the main light and auxillary light.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Not as bright as I expected
from Akron, OH
This bulb is a good bulb, but it doesn't seem to be any brighter than the stock bulb on my 06 Vulcan 500.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Major Improvement from Stock bulbs

See all my reviews
I first used this bulb (H-4 style) on my 1st generation Vmax. That had a relatively small headlight in the first place, so the PIAA bulb was a major improvement.Next, I've recently upgraded BOTH headlights (and 2 add'l marker bulbs)on my C14 (Concours) with these PIAA's. Two of these bulbs up front should be illegal! They are awesome on both low and high beam.
