Comments about Hot Cams Camshaft:

I added the stage 2 Hot Cam, and use a K&N filter, FMF Q2 pipe and power bomb header, appropriate jetting for 8,000' elevation (165 main and the 68S pilot). I have 5,000 miles on the cam with no problems. No more maintenance is needed than normal service intervals. Gave me a bit more top end hit with absolutely no loss on bottom end or midrange. Very strong there as well!

Thank you for your question! We have checked into this for you and show you must use the intake cam as well as they are meant to work together. We show the intake came is on backorder for another 1 1/2-2 weeks from this date. We do apologize. You may want to keep checking back for when this item becomes available again.

  • Q:

Hot Cam Stage 2 for 2001 XR650R description specifies use with "stock" valve springs. Under specs (configurations) it mentions to use with Hot Cams spring kit. Is this a recommendation or should I also be upgrading valve springs?

      A:

Thank you for your question. The Hot Cams Stage 2 Kit does not require upgrading the valve springs in most cases. Research shows the kit required for the 2001 Honda XR650R uses stock springs and rockers. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at Sales@bikebandit.com, Live Chat or by phone toll free at 888-339-3888. We are more than happy to help.
