Cobra Motorcycle Quiet Baffles

By zioo

from Ventura County, California

Comments about Cobra Quiet Cores:

Yamaha's V-Star 1100 of any year has very nicely styled pipes, but they weight significantly more than almost any aftermarket pipe. The Quiet Baffle is one of three baffles available from Cobra pipes and is the quietest of the three. The Cobra pipes give a great and smooth look and are just the right diameter for the 1100 V-twin from Yamaha. The quiet baffle will modify the stock sound quite a bit so that for the first time, some will turn their heads as you are coming. However, in most of the RPM ranges this Baffle which I got from the, "Bike Bandit," is quieter than most after market pipes. It is actually possible to switch to the beautifully tuned and spec'd. Cobra Speedster Slashdowns or any other of their pipe combinations for the 1100 without rejetting. This is due mostly to the use of the quiet baffle which is considered an option, currently, only after paying full price for the pipes and then incurring an additional price for the optional baffle. The installation of the baffle from Bike Bandit is a breeze, requiring only an Allen or hex wrench as a tool. One caveat: I would suggest a Stage 1 Dynojet kit or a Cobra kit for rejetting the non-fuel injected models. With the quiet baffle the main jets will be 106/104, front/rear-respectively. The needles are to be put on the 4th slot and utilize all stock spacers in the stock order of assembly. Contrary to instructions, the best starting point for the fuel mixture screws is 2 and 3/4 turns out from lightly seated and not the jetting company's suggested 3 turns, with the Quiet Baffle from Cobra.

      Comments about Cobra Quiet Cores:

Ordered Cobra quite core for dragster pipe. They did not fit. Contacted Cobra, they do not make a quite core for the dragster pipe. Order discription from Bike Bandit shows that as a choice. Return policy wanted a time for a phone call. I modified these cores to fit sence I had no cores at all.

      Did the trick

      Comments about Cobra Quiet Cores:

Was extremely happy with the service and shipping of my Cobra Quiet Cores. I now have about 200 miles on the bike with the new cores and at low idle they are extremely quiet but when you get on it they come alive. Did not give me the exact tone I was hoping for which is why I only gave it 4 stars.

        VL800 cobra quiet core baffles

I talked to Cobra Mfg. and they said they do not
make "quiet core baffles" for the Streetrod pipes
on my bike. Are yours Cobra items, or another
manufacture? If they are another manufacture,
the will probably work. Just don't want to buy, then have to return. Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your question! We apologize for any misunderstanding with the website, we also contacted Cobra Directly and they do show that these fit into the Streetrod pipes no problem, we are sorry if you had gotten any mis information from the rep that you spoke with.
