Yup its an oil filter, perfect replacement. I ordered a couple for each bike and four wheeler so I will have them on hand when I need to change the oil. The only con is that it isn't as cheap as automotive oil filters, but it's cheaper here than elsewhere and you have to have them.

The filter works great and is a direct replacement.
Pony up and buy an OEM or K&N instead
from Fort Collins, CO
The filter media is of the cheapest metal mesh constructions and has no pleats. For those who do not understand, this means it is a cheap filter that will probably filter the big crud from the oil, but not very well and not for very long. Perhaps the other versions for models other than an XT225 are of better construction and quality, but I doubt it. Compared to an OEM filter or an aftermarket like a K&N, it is very inferior. Spend the extra $1-$2 and buy a decent filter if you care about your ride.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
