Kawasaki KLT 160A and the Mikuni Round Slide Carbu

      By kewlade1

Comments about Mikuni Round Slide VM Series 2-Stroke Carburetor:

I bought a 1985 Kawasaki KLT 160A that was in perfect condition however it was not stored right!
The 24 year old gas was still in the tank and the Carb!
I cleaned the tank and treated it. The Carb was very bad, It was like solid vanish! I tried to clean it and thought I had it perfect 4 times and each time it ran a little better! Well I was going to rebuild it and looked for a rebuild kit for it! Then I came accross the Mikuni Round Slide Carburetor
for about the same price as a rebuild kit so I went with it... When I installed it and pull started the ATC it started the very 1st pull to a perfect 1000 RPM's, With out choking it! I then gave it gas and it was very responsive! Took it for a ride in the woods and it was hard to keed the front wheel on the ground! I also owne a 2007 TRX680FA Honda Rincon so I'm use to power!
Very Happy with the Mikuni Round Slide Carburetor
      Thank you Very much!
PS. Didn't have to jet it, This was a plug and Play!
      Regards,
      Keith Wilding

This carb is awesome! i put it on a moped of mine and i couldnt be happier with it. They are very forgiving when tuning and can still run great with a wrong size jet.

The carb is great, my bike was still using its original carb from 1978 and it gave out, got this one and the bike is responding like New. Its also using less gas, so I can go on longer rides.

there is a mistake in my review before, i bought the carb mikuni vm series in 1991, so it must more than 10 years, almost 20 years! and still great
sorry...:)and for the 1984 kawasaki AR125 liquid cooled, theres 2 type of the engine the B series seems have more power, i just cut the rotary valve, change the muffler and install the mikuni 28mm carb. and THE GOOD TIMES REALLY ROLL..!!

Thank you for your question. Can you please provide a measurement of the inner diameter of the engine side spigot of the carb? That way we can recommend a comparable match for the Bushwacker. Example: Engine side of carb inner diameter 20mm, 22mm? something in that fashion.

I have a honda oddyssey FL250 77 to 84. actually 3 of them. My newest one has been modified with a water cooled head and it has a mikuni 38L carb on it. the other 2 have smaller carbs. I am wondering if that is to much carb and if not do you have a carb kit for this carburator.

Thank you for your question. Is there any other stamps or markings on the mikuni 38 carb. The research material does not specify a 38L. The VM style carbs will work on the Honda FL250. I have a 1975 Yamaha RD350, I switched to premix in tank instead of the factory oil supply system. I need replacement carburetors and I do not need the chokes connected like the factory carburetor set. Any suggestions as to which product you would recommend?

Will the 22mm flange mount fit on a 1973 yamaha AT3 125cc motorcycle? I'm not concerned about the airbox connection, as I'm useing a K&N filter but does it have the correct Two bolt flange to bolt on to the jugs intake. Thanks.

Thank you for your question. The only specs that I have are the center to center flange measurement for the carb’s flange. I do not have the measurement to bike unfortunately. Center to center is 49 mm +or - 2mm the holes are actually oblong, I’m very familiar with this VM style carb.

I am mechanically ignorant so I have no idea what exactly I am looking for! I have a 1982 kz250 csr and I want to replace the carb on it. I put the current carb in the shop for a rebuild and it took 3 weeks instead of 2 days, cost 135 bucks, and I still have the same issues with hard starting and flooding out at high rpm for long intervals. What I want to know is if this "universal"Mikuni will work on my bike, and if it will, what version of it do I need?
