Comments about D.I.D. 520 Standard Motorcycle Chain:

Installed on a ninja 500 project I'm working on. Went 1 tooth up in the front and ditched the O-ring chain. This is my first time buying a standard moto chain. Chain is visibly high quality with very smooth and quiet operation. I'm pleased. Only 20 miles so I don't know just yet how it will stretch/wear.

  • Q:

Some chains on your site state max displacement size, like "no larger than 900cc's". This one does not. I have a 1995 Honda Magna VF750. Is this chain going to work with my bike?
Asked on 10/16/2012 by Joel from Phoenix, AZ

    • CUSTOMER CARE

      A:

Thank you for your question. No this chain does not have the tensile strength needed for the large displacement bikes. The chain has to be strong enough to handle the torque produced by the motorcycle. If the tensile strength is not sufficient the chain will stretch and loosen up on every ride, and can even snap! The street motorcycles require O-Ring chains. O-ring chains have the strength to handle the torque.
