The Alpinestars Octane Riding Shoe is constructed with soft PU coated leather wraps upper and a soft PU coated suede collar for greater comfort. Features high ankle design aids protection while low-cut achilles area allows for maximum foot flex, two lateral Velcro pull-tabs allow for customized fit, invisible water-repellent zipped interior, toe protector and toe slider maximizes safety, injection moulded heel and ankle support and abrasion resistant TPR toe shifter. Very lightweight and flexible yet durable.

Good design, Questionable Quality

Comments about Alpinestars Octane Riding Shoes:
I love the way these shoes fit and look, but through one season of riding, the toe on the shifter shoe is separated and the leather is starting to tear. I work for a boot company (Timberland) that unfortunately doesnt make motorcycle boots, so I tried these. I havent really abused them, I do ride hard but havent skitched or done anything bad like that with them. Alpinestars usually has a great track record and everything else I own from them has been great, I have the Sniper jacket, gloves, rain gear and some riding pants, and they are all top notch. Perhaps I got a bad pair but just take this into consideration when buying, just a little bit :)

As a long-time MX rider, I've always preferred Alpinestars gear - it is the best. These boots for street riding uphold Alpinestars' tradition for quality - they are an excellent design, and I could found no manufacturing flaws. The boots are comfortable, have good protection, and are very light. I imagine you could apply a good weather sealant to the leather and ride the boots in some inclement weather, but heck, I never get my Ducati wet if I can help it. =^)
