Good tire for street, dirt, adventure touring

      By Warthog

      from Korea and Hawaii

Comments about Avon AM24 Gripster Motorcycle Tire:

I use a set on my R100GS in Hawaii. The tires perform surprisingly well in a wide range of conditions: wet, slick roads; gravel; sandy roads, soft dirt, hard dirt, gravel.
I don't recommend them for mud or deep sand. However, I have ridden them on trails right up to the beach, and along the edge of the beach. They perform amazingly well. I've also had them at the motocross track. They rip on hardpack...as much as a R100GS can rip at a motocross track.

Best Dual-sport tire for the KLR

      By Wallace

      from San Diego, CA

Comments about Avon AM24 Gripster Motorcycle Tire:

The Avon Gripster is the best tire for the KLR 650. It has all the grip needed for the twistys on the street and does amazingly well in the dirt. If you can hang on, the KLR will climb it with these tires. I consistently get 6000 miles out of the rear and 12000 miles out of the front tire. Use the thickest tube you can find.

      Service and delivery comments:

Saves two trips to the dealer. One to purchase the other to pick up. Saves a few bucks as well.

      All 'Round Good Tire

Comments about Avon AM24 Gripster Motorcycle Tire:

I've used Gripsters on and off road for years. Avon got the tread design correct initially and have been good enough to stick with it.
For the price and the flexibility, it's just hard to beat this tire.

      Service and delivery comments:

quick and competitive, plus the microfiche files for most bikes.

You can use tubes in tubeless tires, but you can't go the other way.

Thanks for your question! The Avon Gripster AM24 Motorcycle Tire that your looking at would be tube type and tubeless compatible.

Which is better on DR650 the Avon Gripster AM24 tubless or with a tube?

          A:

Thanks for your question! With your Suzuki DR650 if you are running the standard rim with spokes you would always need to run a tube, the only time you would not would be if you had mag wheels.
