Comments about Avon AM24 Gripster Motorcycle Tire:
I just passed the 20,000 mile mark on the 90/90-21" front tire gripster on my 2004 KLR-650. I run a distanzia on the back so this review is only for the gripster front tire. The tire is finally wore down to the wear bars but I may be able to get another 1000 or so miles out of this tire since it has been difficult to notice any wear at all in the last few thousand miles. Incredible to me that you can get over 20,000 miles out of a motorcycle tire!! Tire handles the twisties great as well...can take a 40 mph rated curve at 65 mph no problem. Mainly drive highways (110 miles commuting everyday) but have ridden on sand, gravel, and dirt roads as well. Once I even took the shoulder of a paved road (medium sized gravel) at 70 mph...it was scary but the tire held me upright until I slowed enough to get back on the highway. Can't say enough about this tire. Personally, I inflate the tubes between 21 and 25 psi and it wears nicely...tire is stiff enough that it can even be ridden with very low pressure (had leak once and rode home with under 5 psi...could feel the tire was low but could not see much squatting). Best tire for the money, period, unless you are looking for a lot of off road use out of your bike. I've been to 35 countries with my KLR with the Gripster tire. They have never let me down no matter the road conditions. I would not leave home without them!

I run them on an 06 klr as a street tire. I recently rode Route 66 and the tires did great in heavy (heavy) rain. I talked my brother into a set and he loves them too. light trails, or roads of any sort this is a great tire.
Good compromise tire

Good general purpose tire for dual sport riding. I have been using them on a KLR and a Transalp for years. Decent mileage (8 - 10K) on the rear, somewhat more on the front. Also nice & quiet on the road.
