This tire is the perfect balance of high-performance materials and water-shedding tread. It is impressive on dry pavement and amazing on wet.

The Tri-Compound Extrusion (TE) and Advanced Variable Belt Density (A-VBD) construction combines a durable center for stability and longevity with softer edges for excellent grip at high lean angles.

The Storm 2 Ultra provides consistent handling and stability for the life of the tire, fast warm-up times, and superior grip. The tread gives optimal water dispersal and resistance to uneven wear to improve braking.

Includes Avon's road hazard warranty. W-Rated, Tubeless.

My faves...

Comments about Avon AV55 ST Storm 2 Ultra Sport Touring Radial Motorcycle Tire:

I have 64K miles on my '01 Concour, have tried all the tires which have been available over the years and like these the best.
They have the most nuetral feel on the steering, they fall into line with little steer pressure and hold the line. Great traction for e-stops.
I have only a thousand or so miles on this tire and hope they last like the AV/45-6.
Avon has always been a good value. There is nothing that I haven't liked about the ones I have ridden on...

Comments about Avon AV55 ST Storm 2 Ultra Sport Touring Radial Motorcycle Tire:

All around great, long lasting tire. My previous Storm has 11,000 miles with tread remaining, but has worn oddly with ripples. But I did lay my bike down low side about 3000 miles into the tire. Possible cause? Not sure.
Will definately keep buying the Avon Storm tires.

Comments about Avon AV55 ST Storm 2 Ultra Sport Touring Radial Motorcycle Tire:

OEM tires only lasted for approximately 5,000 miles. The AVON Storm tires have lasted at least 10,000 miles. Ride quality is excellent. Wet weather is no problem. Used these tires on a very spirited week long trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Pretty extreme lean angles handled with ease. Highly recommend these tires.

        • Q:

I have a 2010 Triumph Thruxton with a 4.25 inch Excel rim on the back running an Avon Storm 2 AV 56 160/60-17 (brand new tire and rim)

          I have the front stock rim still (18" by 2.5" wide) currently running a Metzler ME33 100/90 - 18

          Can I replace this with the Avon Storm 2 AV 55 110/80 - 18?
