Comments about Avon AV71 Cobra Motorcycle Tire:

This tire is stable on corners. My VTX 1800 C is over 700 lbs and with me it is about a half ton. I inflate my tires hard at 38 and 40 psi front and rear respectively to give me longer tire life and a firmer ride. The tire was [...] installed easily. Thank you

Comments about Avon AV71 Cobra Motorcycle Tire:

Gl1800 - only used for touring. Expected great mileage based on years of using Avon tyres. I get great mileage, even wear, and excellent grip from Storm 2 Ultra, Viper / VP2 Sport and Supersport. These tyres have been amazing. The Cobras made specifically for Gold Wing, have been okay. Pictures below are with 10200 miles. Both tyres are cupping and wearing uneven. I adjust my tyre pressures every day, even on trips. I ride solo. I've got a trip planned that will be about 7-8000 miles. I don't think these dudes will make it. Having said that, I'm gonna try another set for the trip. Will post.

I have an Avon Venom AM42 180/70R16 on the rear of my VTX1800C. I need a replacement for the Dunlop D251F 130/70R18 on the front. (These were on it when I got the bike.)I can't find a Venom (Radial) for the front. Should I use an Avon Cobra AV71 130/70R18?

Thanks for your question! you are correct the AV71 and AV72 would be front and rear tire matching options.

Do Avon Cobra tires replace the Avon Venom line for Valkyries?

If so, can I expect similar longevity with the Cobras? Do you know what the changes are?
Asked on 3/10/2010 by riderjohn from Seattle, WA

              • CUSTOMER CARE

                A:

Thanks for your question! With the Avon Cobra tires your looking at these would be the replacement version, these would get the same life span when it comes to the wear on the tire, the only difference would be slightly in the tread pattern.
