Comments about BikeMaster 525 O-Ring Chain:
This chain was not widely available and outrageously expensive most places. I was a little bummed when I saw that I would have to flare the pins to use it. This is not something easily done in the backyard. But I was able to buy a conventional master link from the local dealer and get back to riding!
Service and delivery comments:
The local bike shops don't want to bother with anyone who isn't independently wealthy!
First Chain replace
By RenoRider
from Reno, NV
Okay, I know cars, trucks and engines but very little about bikes. I replaced my chain and sprockets for the first time at the 20,000 mile mark. Compared to the OEM, this chain is very comparable. Once I figured out which way was up, I was able to remove the appropriate amount of links and install the chain. The rivets didn't flare like I was hoping they would, but that goes to show the hardness of metal Bike Master uses in this chain. By the way, this chain went on an 04 Bonneville 850.300 miles on this chain and going strong.Good deal and good price.
So far, I like the diagrams. I would LOVE to see online manuals!!! I like the fact that I can see and find most OEM comparable parts when I'm looking for aftermarket products. Very nice once my product left San Diego, it just took a few days to get up here to Reno. Thanks
