The BikeMaster AGM Platinum II Battery uses Absorbed Glass Mat(AGM) technology cells that capture electrolytes. This technology means longer storage life and higher performance than standard wet batteries. Permanently sealed after filling means it’s maintenance free and non-spillable with no need to constantly check level or add water. Greater cold cranking amps, longer service life and resists sulfation. 1-year manufacturer's warranty.

Comments about BikeMaster AGM Platinum II Battery (MS53030 BM):

I ordered this battery for a 1988 BMW R100RS. The bike's original battery was traditional lead-acid. A few years ago, I upgraded the charging system, including a 14.2 volt regulator (instead of the the stock 13.8 volt output) so the bike would support an AGM battery. I also kept the battery trickle-charged on a BatteryMinder (the best for new battery technology!) in AGM-mode.

I originally bought an Odyssey AGM battery, and only got 3 months of life out of it before the battery no longer had enough cranking power to start the bike. Odyssey refused to replace the battery, citing the hot running temperature of an air-cooled bike probably shortened the life.

I ultimately replaced the expensive Odyssey with a BikeMaster AGM, not expecting much from such an inexpensive battery. That was more than two years ago, and the battery is still starting the bike on the first spark every morning, even when the temperature dips below freezing. I highly recommend this battery.
