Comments about Bridgestone Spitfire S11 Motorcycle Tire:

I just put my second one of these on my 1980 Goldwing. I got 9500 miles out of the first one. When I used Dunlop before the Spitfire, I was lucky to get 3000 miles before I had to replace it. I didn't change my driving style to try and get longer life out of it either. The 9500 miles included a 3000 mile trip from Iowa to North Carolina and pulling a trailer.

Comments about Bridgestone Spitfire S11 Motorcycle Tire:

I like this tire alot. I installed it on the front just before a Labor Day camping/tour ride. The tread looks good, plenty of rubber. I was impressed with it right out of the box. I rode into Northen Wisconsin where there are many twisty, hilly county highways curving around numerous lakes, thru small towns. The first 50 miles, I took it easy-no problems at all. Bike was very stable. Then I ran a 50 mile stretch of 4 lane with a 65 mph speed limit, so I throttled the bike up to 65. Still smooth a greased glass. No shimmy or shakes or any frontend movement. When I got into the narrow, 2 lane roads, I progressively leaned further over in the curves and picked up the speed a little each curve, being cautious with the new tire but wanting to see how it would handle. It held perfectly, no problems, at all. I eventually pushed my big touring bike (850# dry, but loaded with tent, sleeping bag and camp gear + me at 200 pounds, likely 1200 total pounds) into the curves as fast as I am comfortable and had NO tire problems. It tracked perfectly, held like on a rail. I put on about 600 miles on that trip and now about another 600 since. Although only 1200 or 1300 miles so far, tire shows NO wear. I am still very pleased. It seems like an excellent tire for the money-a great value.[...]

                  A:

Thank you for your question. It is not recommended to upgrade the tires in this fashion. The bike will not handle the same with bigger tires. For legal reasons BikeBandit.com does not offer mechanical/technical advice. We do offer repair manuals that may provide the info you need to help you solve your problem.
