I bought this sometime back at a Closeout price of $10, which was the only reason I chose it. I otherwise wouldn't have considered paying more for what is essentially a simple padlock.I chose the red colour so it'd stand out and I wouldn't forget to take it off (a very likely scenario, considering my goldfish memory). So far, it's worked.I use this lock only on road trips out of the city, because unless you have storage space or luggage, there's no place to keep this lock when off the disc. I admit it's a bit cumbersome and awkward due to its weight, but at least it's relatively compact. At the end of the day, that's the price you have to pay for an added level of security.

I would like to say that I have 4 different locks that I use with my bike. I have this one, a combo lock, a skii rack lock used just for my helmet, and a cable lock for my helmet and jacket. But this is by FAR my favorite lock. It is the toughest lock out of the bunch and I feel completely safe using it as a disc lock. Remember to get yourself a reminder cord too. Excellent Product and if i ever misplace mine i will be buying a second.
I have heard good things and bad things, but only experienced good things. A couple times i made purchases and expected bandit bucks and didnt get any so i assumed there was some fine print somewhere that was meant to prevent a majority of the people from getting the bucks.

The lock works very well and the protective coating is good piece of mind. It wraps nicely around the disk brake...I wish I would have bought the matching lock reminder bungie but I have never forgotten to take it off. In the Pacific Northwest I worry about moisture. The "dirt" cover feature on the key hole is nice. I assume after awhile I will squirt in some dry graphite to keep everything working smoothly.Overall, good value...
