MOTORCYCLE REPAIR 101
from Panama City, FL
I have only worked on cars. This is my first timeworking on a bike. I am very familiar with Clymer repair manuals. I bought a Vintage Yamaha 1979 XS750. I am retired and short on Money. The first thing one should do when getting a usedmotor vehicle is, go over everything. Change all fluids. Check all components. To do this, one needs to know what to check, how to check and what to check for.The first thing I bought after the bike was this Clymer Repair Manual. I shopped around and found the BEST price, Right here! It is very hard fiinding parts, etc. for this old a vehicle. I was surprised finding the Best repair manual still available. BikeBandit.Com, not only stocked this manual, they delivered VERY quickly. I am very pleased with how they have handled this for me, and that is why I am writing this. One of the first things I did was change oil. Thanks to one of many well illustrated photos, I discovered that a spring and washer were missing from the filter housing. This holds filter in proper place for filter to function correctly. That, right there; has been WELL worth my investment in costof manual, and delaying riding the bike before I have gone over it... Bottom Line: If you want to take care of your vehicle... Go Buy The Book.. Thanks
