2013 Thor MX Gear
When we head to showcases like the Parts Unlimited West Regional Showcase, there are just some new motorcycle gear and apparel items that steal the show. The new Thor Verge MX Helmet was definitely that item in Anaheim among the new 2013 motorcycle gear a few weeks ago.
While checking out the 2013 Thor MX Gear, it was hard to miss and we definitely wanted to get a Thor Verge MX Helmet review. Front and center in all of its really popping color schemes, this was the first time we were able to see the Thor Verge in person. Check out our interview with the Jamie Foreman, Thor's Brand Manager, about the 2013 Thor MX gear and the Thor Verge MX Helmet Review at the showcase:
Previously, we had only seen the Thor Verge MX Helmet on the heads of top Supercross riders such as Ryan Villopoto as they rode their way to the podium. But in person, the Thor Verge is very impressive. With 6 color ways, including the Twist Blue version shown in the video, this motorcycle helmet is 1280 duel density EPS made of fiberglass Kevlar and is both DOT and ECE22.05 approved for safety.
But Thor really took the feedback from riders a step further to shorten the chin bar yet enhance the roost guard to make the whole frontal section shorter and narrower. Still, the Thor Verge MX Helmet doesn't force you to compromise on safety as an added ridge along the frontal sides really gives it extra strength and durability in case of any frontal impact. Up top, the visor is made of a new density plastic that is thinner, making it more flexible and harder to break.
On the inside, Thor's signature SilverCool liner is made of antibacterial, moisture wicking material and is both removable and washable to extend its comfort and life span. The vents in the liner are also specifically designed to line up with the vents in the fiberglass shell to get maximum ventilation.
All in all, the Thor Verge MX Helmet Review was the highlight of the new 2013 Thor MX Gear.
