Product Review - The Pro Taper Pillow Grips
These off-road motorcycle and ATV grips are great at keeping your hands happy while you ride.
Where your hands meet the handlebars is a huge point of control for any rider. And since it's so very important to have a good connection with your bike when riding motocross, you know that you need grips that won't leave your hands shredded and numb from all the vibrations of your bike. So we've reviewed the Pro Taper MX Pillow Grips and the Pro Taper ATV Pillow Top Lite Grips to see how well they'd keep out hands from screaming.
The Pro Taper MX Pillow Grips and Pro Taper ATV Pillow Top Lite Grips passed the soft hand test with flying colors. If you find your hands have a blistering problem after you ride, these grips will keep your hands in good shape. The Vibrasonix pillow top is great for cutting out annoying vibrations and cutting down on impact. Plus the dual-density core compound keeps the grips secured to your handlebars so you won't need to worry about them shifting around on you mid-ride.
|The extra tough bar ends even come in several covers to keep you from getting bored with the color.
||These Pro Taper Grips also come in a specialized style for ATV's.
These grips are also designed to withstand crashes. Tipped off with ANTI-Rip bar ends, the soft pillow top of your grip won't suffer damage if you and your bike go down. And even though these grips are cheap enough to replace as often as you would like, these bar ends will greatly help to extend their life so you'll probably only find yourself replacing them when you get bored of the color. And since the bar ends come in five different colors, you'll have choices when you do get bored of the color.
The Pro Taper ATV Pillow Top Lite Grips come with a lower profile in order to allow for ATV rider to have that little bit more hand control that they really need when riding.
There are only a few slight downsides to these grips. With the Pro Taper MX Pillow Grips, the light coloring of the grip has a tendency to show dirt a lot easier. While this doesn't actually affect how the grips perform, it can be fairly annoying when you have to constantly be scrubbing them to keep them looking good.
The Pro Taper MX Pillow Grips also have a slightly bigger diameter due to the pillow top. This is typically only a problem with people who have smaller hands. The diameter can make it difficult for some people to get a firm grasp of the entire grip.
Would we buy them?
Definitely. We love the comfort that the pillow top gives us and think it's definitely worth the extra girth of the grip. We just wish that the Pro Taper MX Pillow Grips came in black as well.
