Product Review - Tour Master Adventure-Gel Motorcycle Gloves

These gloves have a seriously comfortable fit but have a hard time holding up after a crash.

We've all heard the saying "dress for the crash." As avid believers that safety should always be a concern when buying motorcycle gear, it's something that we definitely keep in mind when searching for that perfect pair of motorcycle gloves. That search lead us right to the Tour Master Adventure-Gel Motorcycle gloves.

Pro's:

The best thing about these puppies is simply how gosh darn comfortable they are. Made of a very supple goatskin with Armor-Link mesh ventilation, these gloves are flexible and breathe well. As a further plus on the comfort scale, the Tour Master Adventure-Gel Motorcycle Gloves have gel padding (hence the name) in the palms where the hand meets the grip in order to cut down on any annoying vibrations. Plus the gloves are designed to have a curved palm and fingers in order for your hands to comfortably grip the handlebars without having to go through the annoying process of breaking them in.

The Armor-Link mesh ventilation allows your hands to breathe.   Strategically placed gel padding cuts down on uncomfortable vibrations.

Con's:

Unfortunately, the Tour Master Adventure-Gel Motorcycle Gloves' biggest attribute is also their biggest downfall. While we love the feel of the goatskin leather that the gloves are made of, one of our riders had the unfortunate incident of finding out how well these gloves hold up in a crash. He found out the hard way that, while these gloves will protect your hands in the event that you meet with the asphalt (note: this little part should probably fall in the "pro's" section), after the crash, the gloves themselves didn't manage to stay intact. The soft and supple goatskin leather was no match for the abrasive black top and was shredded beyond recognition. After the crash, the gloves went straight to the trash and our rider had to invest in a new pair of gloves.

Would we buy them?

Buying the Tour Master Adventure-Gel Motorcycle Gloves all depends on one thing: if you get in a crash, do you want gloves that will both protect your hands and be able to wear again on your next ride?

These gloves definitely fall into the "dress for the crash" category. They'll protect your hands if you do happen to go down and they're extremely comfortable when you manage to keep your bike right-side up. We do recommend these gloves if you want a comfortable pair that will manage to protect your hands in a crash and don't mind having to replace them afterward. And from feedback from our customers' reviews, we also recommend buying them one size bigger as they do seem to run a tad bit small.

Otherwise, you may want to search for a pair of gloves made out of tougher leather such as the hide of a stingray. (Yes, they really do make those).
