I used this tool to break my stock chain on my S1000RR and it worked brilliantly. I then needed to take a couple of links out of my new d.i.d erv3 chain and while removing the first pin following the instructions the tool bent. I relieved the tension on the tool and the pin straightened back out. I then tightened it back down and the tool began to bend again. I then backed off and the tool shattered. It took a 10 dollar chain break tool from harbor freight to finish the job. This tool did work perfectly for rivetting the master link but I don't believe that makes it worth the steep price.

The tool arrived in good shape, in it's pouch. It gave me the impression that it might've been used, and not new. For the price that wasn't pleasing, but after inspecting the tool I couldn't see any indications that it was used before.

It gave me a warm fuzzy knowing that the tool was designed for the chain I was installing, but I wish it hadn't cost so much (almost as much as the chain itself).

It's durable though, you'd be hard pressed to break this tool, especially if you follow the directions. You'll need some big wrenches (21mm and 19mm if I remember) or a big ol' adjustable.

Would I recommend it? Yeah, sure, if you're running D.I.D. (which, I guess I will be for a long time now)
