      Larger width than original OEM

          Purchased for 83' cb450sc Nighthawk. Wire connectors match. Original regulator measoures 3.125" wide - This one measures 3.75" wide. Slotted bolt holes line up with bracket ok, but had to bend mounting bracket towards front of bike (but stil be able to snap side cover on). Had to grind off about 3/16" of ear on bike frame (that bracket bolts into) to allow clearance. Had to weld extension (used 1/2" lock-washer) on bracket to remount bracket to frame. It restored voltage back to where it should be.

          Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

            This regulator/rectifier fit perfectly on my SV650 (2000 model with 82,000 miles). I had to use longer bolts because it is a little thicker at the connection point (overall thickness was the same). The connectors were an exact match. Installation was a snap since I luckily had the bolts required on hand. I can't comment on longevity because I just installed it but all tests are perfect (14.5 volts at 5000 rpm) and it looks like a quality part.

              on my 1983 cb650 this part fits under the front of seat and the back of the fuel tank will this be an exact fit. and this is what i think i am looking for because my alternator is only putting out 12.3 volts and runs my battery dead after a short trip.
