Comments about Fieldsheer Titanium Air 4.0 Pants:
I wear a 42 in jeans. The 3Xl's are listed as size 40, 40-42 waist. I thought they might be too tight to wear over jeans, but thought they might work without the liner in. I received them and promptly put them on over my jeans. They were a little snug, but this was with the insulated liner in. They would work this way. With the liner out they fit great over 42 jeans. Since I mostly wanted them for hot weather this is fine with me. I've only wore them once so far, but felt the air blowing through them. I think they will be excellent in hot weather. The quality seems good, especially for the price. They are heavier than I expected, but in a good way. They are on the long side, I'm a 32" inseam and they bunch up some when walking around. They are fine on the bike. I put the knee armour in the middle pockets and it rests right where it should when I'm on the bike. The liner is fairly substantial and should provide quite a bit of warmth. The leg zippers are short which is inconvenient. Other than that I think these are some very nice riding pants.
Nice but rather large

I wanted to do a quick review since there isn't one up here for anybody considering buying these. The description is quite adequate on the website so I won't waste time there. I would caution people that these appear to nbe sized appropriately as overpants- that is to say there is no need to size up.I wear a 38 waisst and 34 inseam and purchased the 3XL on close out since I figured worst case I could sinch the waist in and run a little loose over work pants or blue jeans. Well they will be quite useable, but its definately the worst case, could really have gone down to a 2XL for a better fit even over thick blue jeans, XL would probably be OK if I was intending to wear them over lighter clothing. A little creativity with the waist line should help, though. The only other thing I will point out is I would expect a lot of people to find them rather easy to don and doff while wearing boots, but I am not one of them. My size 13 boot is just a hair too tight and I feel its easier to remove the boots first than fight them through the calf length side zips. All in all, very good impression of these pants based on first impressions, though I wish 2XL was possible at this time. I will be looking forward to trying them on my commute when the weather breaks.
