Nice vest, runs a bit big

Comments about Firstgear Military Spec Vest:
I really like the look of this vest. I bought it to improve my safety while commuting across Los Angeles daily. I sense that people do see me better; people move out my way more when I'm lane splitting and seem to defer to me, allowing me more space and not cutting me off as often. It's cheap for those benefits!One thing I don't like is that it seems big for the stated size. I normally wear a medium jacket, but this vest in M/L is big even over a slightly bulky riding jacket. Since this is aimed at military guys, does that mean most soldiers have beer guts these days? Yikes. I don't have a beer gut, so I have to cinch the side straps all the way down, and it's still loose. I'm considering cutting the straps off and just stitching the sides together. I would still buy again.

Best Uses
The side openings are a must to access the controller for my heated gear for winter riding. The vest is sized rather large ... I normally wear a medium to a large but purchased the small and it fits very well over my winter wear. Highly recommend the vest.
