Comments about FMF Titanium 4 Aluminum Spark Arrestor Screen:
A spark arrester is required (probably a great idea no matter where I ride) to ride on state land and this one does the trick. Bolted right on, no loss of power and even seems to be a tad quieter. Could do with a bit better finish. I was relieved to see the casting includes the USFS approval right on the tip. Wasn't clear on that from the description in the ad.The pipe also has the quiet insert and these two work fine together. The tip is light as a feather.

Have it on my 2002 yz250f. Blows throw screen within mins. Sick of buying replacement screens. Dont know if it is because of my powerbomb head or that my muffler might need repacked, but my bike seems to shot the exhaust out at a high pressure. Replace FMF muffler with stock and same high pressure. Arrestor for stock muffle hasnt ripped its screen and i have had it on there for 2 months now.
Too Expensive...But USFS Approved Like I Wanted

It's a spark arrestor; it works; and it didn't noticeably rob my bike of power. :-DThere's little else to say other than this spark arrestor is USFS approved for FMF Titanium 4 silencers like the one on my XR650L - important to me for long rides through ranger-patrolled areas. USFS approval is the only reason I spent $50 on this spark arrestor...instead of spending much less to source something at a hardware store. ;-) Actually, I guess I would've happily paid $25 for it without USFS approval to consider...just to avoid another weekend hardware project: so it's all good. :-)

works , no complaints. a bit pricey. easy to install. original piece(snorkel bent down w/ the screen would have been my choice.
