Comments about HJC IS-MAX BT Solid Modular Motorcycle Helmet:
I have been wearing HJC helmets for years. The modular helmets have more room around your chin that others so it does not feel so claustrophobic. Well made, confortable, with good options. The slide down sun shield is great.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Very nice helmet for the price

Looked at several different brands in this price range and HJC seemed to have everything I was looking for in a helmet. Using their measurement system, I measured out for an XL, which I purchased. It fits perfect and wearing for long periods produces no uncomfortable tight spots. I love the internal sunshade, although I think it could have been a touch darker. Also, the sunshade mechanism feels a little cheap, so I hope it will hold up. The faceshield and modular operation work well, with no issues so far. The one thing I would have liked to have seen on the helmet is a quick release buckle of some kind. Not too much to say bad about this helmet. Buy it, you will like it!!
Great for good weather, not storms
from Flint, MI
This is my first modular helmet. I got this one because I found that I liked the idea of flipping the face portion up. The larger space in front is helpful, too. There are more positions for venting the face shield, vs the HJC full helmet that I have. What I didn't like was when I was caught in a storm, and put on my rain gear, my chin and ears ended up getting quite wet. Needless to say I'm disappointed, since this cost twice as much as my full face helmet. I'm an all-weather rider so I was hoping for better performance. Most people don't ride hours and hours through storms though, but if you do, then just know to look elsewhere for your main helmet.
Nice modular for price.

It's a nice helmet for the price and nice that it's ready to accept Bluetooth. It's a bit on the noisy side, but if you usually ride with earplugs, as I do, it's not too bad. I love the flip-down sunshade but it's not quite dark enough.
