Comments about Icon Victory Riding Pants:
The material is a good weight. Not the heaviest, but feels like it would offer good protection. Definitely better for walking around than heavier weight denim. Only downside is that they are way too long for me (about 3 inches). Not a problem since the length can be hemmed, but that defeats the purpose of the expansion panels at the knee, which will now fall below my knee and not be useful.

It's a sad day that ICON is no longer making these pants. While they arent leathers, I do feel confident that they will protect me better than basic jeans off the rack. The fit and feel is fantastic. Unlike some other ICON pants, the leg length is spot on. Just long enough to sit right when riding. Most likely I will pick up a second set before they are all gone. The only thing I would change is maybe adding the ability to slide in some actual armor into the pants. Other than that they are great fair weather pants. I have my bibs for the wet stuff & dont plan on putting these to the water resistance test any time soon.

Ok for hot days but...
Was disappointed these are made in [*]. They do give good ventilation but other than waist size way too big and loose. would have sent them back but my tailor fixed them at a reasonable cost. Also got rid of rivets in side panels.
Better than jeans, but not leather

A nice casual pair of riding pants. They feel heavier than regular jeans, and much more comfortable than leathers. The waist is a perfect fit, but the legs are wider than they should be, resulting in an 'updraft' while riding. The expansion panels in the crotch don't expand well in my riding position, hiking the bottom of the pantleg up above my ankle and contributing to the 'updraft' problem.Overall, they are still comfortable and look good on or off the bike.
