I bought this for my 77 hond cb 750 after my bike ignition switch would not stay on so frustrating anyways i replaced it with is part but beware that the top cap falls off and the tiny springs on the inside went flying after finding all the part i had my bike running in less than 10 min just watch out for that top cap and you will be fine

Comments about K&S Honda Motorcycle Ignition Switch Repair Kit:

I had difficulty in getting the three tabs on the swithch to snap into the base of the body. The spring loaded design of the switch tends to force the tabs loose. After finally getting the tabs to stay, it put the contacts in such a bind that turning the ignition key was near impossible. The solution was to replace the entire ignition switch with a new unit.........

Can this product be used to fix/replace a Honda ignition switch that has the key broken off in it? I can't get the key out and the switch won't turn.

            A:

Thank you for your question. This product is the electrical switch located on the back of the tumblers. This product will not fix a lock with a broken key. You will have to replace the entire switch assembly. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at Sales@bikebandit.com, Live Chat or by phone toll free at 888-339-3888. We are more than happy to help.

        • Q:

The original ignition switch has a bundle of wires and a connector that come out of the base where this piece would go. It then connects the male connector inside the headlight assembly. Since this doesn't have wires coming out, is it designed to fit the male connector directly?

Thank you for your question. There may be another issue with the bike. What model and year is the bike? There are several companies that make aftermarket or universal ignition switches.

Upon looking at this piece, I have a question about its use ... I have an 83 Honda Goldwing, but my old piece has 6 connectors, not 5 ... Will this work, and if so why is there 6 on mine?

            A:

Thansk for your question! this unfortunately will not work for your machine. We also would not be sure why Honda designed this item with a 6 prong connector. You may want to check with a local shop or mechanic for details on that.
