Use of BikeMaster Chain Breaker
from Big Pine, Ca
Comments about BikeMaster Chain Breaker 420-525:
The use of this product is easy, but my existing chain had no master link and I had to go on line to see that grinding the rivit was necessary. I would like to see some directions just to boost confidence in the user.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The first couple of times I used it, the threads were very stiff to turn and overall quality wasn't great, but it still does the job, and it isn't that bad for the price.

BM Chain Breaker
from Charlotte, MI
I though it would be a tougher tool than it appears to be. Half way thruough the first pin on a 520 chain the collar inside the tool snapped into three pieces. I was still able to get the first link pin out but then I had a heck of a time getting the plunger back in the tool (collar would not budge inside- 3 peices!!). The plunger itself exploded on the second try leaving me no choice but to cut the next link pin out. I've orderd a replacment plunger for the tool and am hoping for better results next time! If it works right it would be a great tool!
