Comments about D.I.D. Chain Cut & Rivet Tool:
Haven't used this on a non-DID chain, but it worked like a charm to replace the DID 525 chain on my SV650 with a new one.Much better than the motion-pro tool I borrowed last time. The motion-pro tool was much more difficult to keep aligned, and had a fragile pin which broke. (Pro-tip: Most of the time chain install instructions will suggest, but not explicitly require, grinding the head off the pin before breaking the old chain. Save yourself a lot of headache and consider this step a requirement.).Only complaint is the price. ~$150 w/ shipping is pretty frickin' expensive for a single-purpose tool that's gonna get used *maybe* twice a year. However, you'd probably pay a shop $100 or more to swap *one* chain, so it'll pay for itself in very few uses.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
