Cons

    Best Uses

    • Carb balancing
    • Throttle Body Balancing

    Comments about Emgo Carburetor Synchronizer:

I've used them to balance my 77 Kawasaki KZ650 carbs with great success. I also used them to synchronise my BMW R1100 throttle bodies with great success.

I checked gauge accuracy by connecting to a single source and they were all spot on. This was my only concern with going to gauges having used mercury and liquid filled systems in the past.

I found them easier to use than the liquid filled systems as it was much easier to place gauges where I could see them while making adjustments, on the Kawasaki they could sit on the seat, on the BMW on the floor under the bike, this meant I could easily see the gauges and make adjustments at the same time, whichever side of the bike I was working on.

The only thing I disliked was the fact they don't come with the short lengths of rubber tube needed to connect the damper valves to the gauges. You either have to cut a piece off the tubing supplied to connect to the bike, or in my case I had some spare vacuum pipe lying around. It wasn't a biggie, given the great sale price I got, but detracted from the experience nonetheless. The instructions made no mention of this or how to assemble, although it could be argued that if you couldn't work that one out for yourself you probably have no business playing with carburetors.

    Comments about Emgo Carburetor Synchronizer:

I was hesitant to spend the money on this, but I am really glad I did. This bike is my first time working on one, and I was able to synchronize my carbs in only a couple minutes (tank and everything was already off). The bike runs MUCH smoother now. Also glad I don't have to worry about sucking the fluid from a manometer style tool. If you close the nylon valves before starting the bike, and then open them slowly while it's running, you don't risk damaging the gauges.

My only complaint is that the nylon valves are really cheap. They work, but they skip a thread really easily if you tighten them too much (which is easily done with only light finger pressure).

Thank you for your question. Yes this tool will work on singles, doubles, triples, and 4 cylinder engines. This carb sync tool is the best type of synchronizer.(better than the mercury sticks). • Q:

I had bought this gauge set a while ago. I sent an e-mail about this about a month ago asking how to adjust/dampen the unit. This was my first time using it and the dial indicators were bouncing all over the place.. NOT USABLE... I know my purchase is way out of any time line for returning but is there any way to adjust them ??? As they are now they are not working... I did find the small front screw to adjust the position of the display face but the needles just jump so much I can not get a good reading

I would really like to verify my fuel injectors are working together.

      Thanks in advance

Jim - you should have received 4 white valves to put inline to the gauges - they adjust the pressure to the gauge and steady the needle - adjust them so there is a slight wobble to the needles.

Can this product work on a 1981 Honda CB 750K (four carbs)? I currently have a kit that uses a different system with mercury. I think that this one is easier but wanted to see if it was compatible with my engine.
