Comments about Motion Pro Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool:

First time user here. With this tool kit, my first chain replacement went very smoothly. The directions the kit comes with are clear and easy to follow. One of the parts broke, but bike bandit sent me a replacement. So far I am happy and would recommend it.

Comments about Motion Pro Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool:

Used it for 428, 520, and 530 chains. Very difficult to use. tool is very imprecise. Does not align well for driving out pins.
Turns installing a chain into a painful and time consuming process. With the money you save on this tool, you will spend much more time, and you will likely need spare parts that break on this tool, and spare rivet links.
On the plus side, spare parts are available for this tool.

Comments about Motion Pro Chain Breaker & Riveting Tool:

On the first use (530 chain) the rivet pin broke when breaking the chain (after the head of the rivets were cut off, per the instructions) and when riveting the new chain, the anvil separated, allowing the master link pin to push back through the back plate, requiring the purchase of a new master link. I will probably look for a better tool for my next chain replacement.

Yes! Just make sure you grind off the old rivet! Some chains bigger than 520 may require you to grind the head off the old chain.
