Comments about Motion Pro Crankcase Splitter:
Does the job well. Its is univervsal and can be use for fly wheel pully on some brands of bikes.Comes with so many differnt attachments.Only if it came with some kind of case to keep all together when not using. Its worth its money.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This was the first time I needed to split cases. I usually take bottom ends to a mechanic, but had poor results recently so this time I decided to do my own. I had an RM125 and CR250 engine to split. I shopped around and decided on the Motion Pro splitter. On the first bike (RM125), it took a little while to figure out how to orient the arms, and which case bolt holes to use. However, after about 30 minutes the case was split and no screw driver was used! On the 250, it only took about 10 minutes and the center cases were apart. Next time, I'm betting on just a few minutes. There are no usage or assembly instructions, but the design is pretty easy to understand. Start with the tool level to the case's machined surface (where it splits), choose a bolt pattern that is as close to a equilateral triangle as possible, and screw slowly while tapping lightly on the case with a dead blow hammer. Pay attention to the tool and make sure it stays level to the case while it separates. To make it easy, you'll want a buddy to help out. For the price, I would expect some type of "best practice" for using the tool. If it had those instructions, I'd have given this a 5 of 5!
Service and delivery comments:
The model-specific diagrams are a great way to find the parts you need, and the number of bikes and years covered is excellent!
