Comments about Performance Tool 3/8" Impact Driver:
The driver I got came carefully packaged. I noticed the plastic storage case was cracked. The tool itself appeared new, but the adaptor on the end looked used. The bits don't fit well. Two fall out unless held with fingers. Two won't fit into the adaptor at all. To get it to work, I first had to take it apart, and clean out the rust, then lubricate and reasemble. When used on stuck screws, the bits twisted: not strong enough for the tool. I never did get any screws unstuck with it.To be fair, I borrowed a different kind of impact driver from a friend who has used his successfully so I know it works. This other driver couldn't get my screws unstuck either.I know many other people who have this exact tool and are happy with it, so I'm not giving up on it. But in my case, its not living up to expectations just yet.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Saved my bacon only 1 week after recieving to remove a bolt that hadn't been moved in over 20 years. It was hard to figure out out the set up the tool but it worked.

I had four stripped brass bolts on a carb that were about to get the saw and flathead treatment, but this thing pulled them RIGHT OUT! This tool is awesome, i'll have to worry about stripped bolts again!
Don't get caught without it!

This is one of those items that is a must have for me. I keep one in my tool box and it has saved my bacon on many occasions. As more components and hardware are made of aluminum sometimes screw heads get stripped or when two metals are touching (i.e. a steel bolt into an aluminum thread) they stick together really tight!Use an impact driver to get the screw out without damage to the surrounding (and usually much more expensive) components.I've seen people destroy components and tools trying to get stripped screws out. Use the correct tool and get back to riding.
