        Comments about Metzeler Motorcycle Tube:

I prefer natural rubber tubes they seem to hold up better. I don't like tube tires on street bikes but since my BMW F800GS comes with tube tires I want to use the best quality tubes I can find. I have tried several types of different tubes and have found the Metzlers to hold up the best. I have experienced two rear, and one front flat on my BMW. The two rear flats were small punctures that I was able to repair with a patch kit on the road. The object stayed in the tire and created a slow leak that was easy to detect and fix before the tire went completely flat. I wasn't so lucky with the front tire, when it went flat I was on the freeway appoximately 70 mph. The object that caused the puncture came out and I lost air very quickly, the tire spun on the rim and sheared the valve stem before I could get off the road. Luckily I was able to get the bike over to the right shoulder where the tire popped off the rim. The tube at that point was melted with no chance of repair, this all happened in a matter of seconds. I had to call for help on that one. Needless to say I now always carry a spare tube and I always use the best quality tubes.

          Comments about Metzeler Motorcycle Tube:

Used this as a replacement for the rear tube when putting new tires (bridgestone trail wings) on my suzuki dr650se. The tube looks and feels a lot more durable than the one from the factory did. (bridgestone?) It feels quite a bit thicker as well. I have a bad habit of pinching tubes when spooning on tires, but not this one. Either I'm getting better or the thicker rubber holds its shape inside the tire a little better. I've put roughly a thousand miles down so far, both on and off road, and even aired out this pig of a bike a few times and everything is holding up great.

Very heavy duty tube. I may have gotten by with a more light duty tube since this is for an old vintage motorcycle that I only ride ocassionally but it is definitely top quality. Be sure to use talc or baby powder to instal. You'll have a terrible time getting this heavy duty tube inside the tire without talc.

I am wondering what size tube is needed for a Brigestone G702 160/80 - 15 Rear tire for a 2007 Honda Shadow Aero

                  A:

Thanks for the question. Here is a link for all the 15" tubes. You can use either a 150/90-15 or a 170/80-15. That size is a odd size for the tube manufacturer's. The BikeBandit Honda OEM part # for the tube is 649190. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do for you by contacting us by email at Sales@bikebandit.com, Live Chat or by phone at 888-339-3888. We are more than happy to help.

                  A:

Thanks for your question. Side valve means the valve stem comes out on the side of the tube rather than the center for wheels with offset valve stem holes.

My 2006 Suzuki C50 specs states I need a 90 deg stem for tubes for my spoked rims. Is this what is meant by the description 'off-set' stem in your product description for this tube? Thank you.

                  A:

Thank you for your question. The offset stems are not centered. The 90 degree stem is the stem required for the spoke wheels.
