The Roadtec Z8's great wet road performance puts it ahead of the competition. Comments about Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact Motorcycle Tire:
I don't doubt Metzler has some of the best technology, but I'm not that impressed with the Z8 especially for the price. Handling and traction were great. However, my rear sliced a hole on the gravel with 4k on it and they still haven't worked out the cupping issue on the front which causes hum and buzz at a slight lean. Fitted on 2010 Concours 14.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Z8 compared to Z6
from Lower Alabama
I've run the metzler Z6 thru many sets on my ZZR1200 and C14. I needed a new set when I had to make an 3000 mile trip. I had 3500 miles on them when I left. After reading the gl review of only getting 4K I was worried. But thru rain and 700 mile days the tires never finched. I used to get 8K out of the Z6, I got 7K out of the Z8. Great tire.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Have over 6k on them now, 2.7k 2-up-heavy trip to Maine, 1.8k solo trip on Blue Ridge Parkway/Smokies, rest commuting. Tread life is very good for a mono compound. Tires flat spotted a bit on the 2-up trip, but are wearing fairly even across the radius. Very good in the turns on this bike. Turn in is predictable and smooth with wide or tight turns. The Z8 is NOT straight line stable, always wandering a bit from side to side, have to keep aware. Motorcycling for me is about the turns, so I will be getting another set soon.
Best ever tires!

I took off on a 3,000 mile tour of Idaho, Utah, Nevada, and Oregon and they worked just as everyone said! No negatives, all posatives. My Michelins would be gone in that period of time, but these seem only half way worn! Made my forks and rear shock seem newer. The whole bike feels better, smoother, and tracks exactly where you point it. I can roll into steeper lean angles without scaring myself. Love them! The front is noticably grippier than my old tires, yet wears much better. I don't know how you can do that?! magic German engineers???
