Comments about Michelin Commander II Motorcycle Tire:

For only $30 more than the Dunlop D404, this tire (now,at 13,000 miles) will last over 4 times longer than the D404. It still has beautiful tread left on it when the Dunlop was totally 'fried' at 4,000. Most importantly..The product does exactly what the company claims. Your Pal...Bill Lohr

Excellent wear. Used Dunlops in the past. Was only getting 3000 miles and cords were showing. Commander II is now past 3000 miles with virtually no signs of wear. Excellent Tire!

Comments about Michelin Commander II Motorcycle Tire:

Bought these for my '02 Harley-Davidson FXD Dyna Super Glide. Right off the bat, the handling is so much better than the D401's they replaced. If they do last as long as Michelin claims, they'll be a major improvement. I do wish Bike Bandit included H-D in their brands supported, as I am a long-time AMA member.

Thank you for your question. No these do not have the load index required for the bike. The tire will need to be reinforced tires. What are the front and rear tire sizes? I can verify the load index of any tires for you.

I have a honda vtx 1300t and wanted to get these tires. my specs for the front tire is 140/80-17. I see you only have a 140/75r-17. would that tire be ok to put on since it is a radial tire and the back tire would be a bias ply and whats the difference between the bias ply and radials.

                  • CUSTOMER CARE

                    A:

Thank you for your question. The 140/75R-17 is 5 millimeters shorter height to the rim. Side by side the 75r is 5 mm shorter. The difference is in the way the body cords are put in the tire . A bias tire has the body cords (plies) on an an angle (bias) to each other. A radial tire has the body plies running parallel. The advantage of a radial tire is that it runs cooler, making it last longer. A bias tire does not "bulge" at the bottom so it is not as prone to be damaged as easly to curb scuffing.
