Comments about Michelin Desert Racing Motorcycle Tire:

I recently put a set of these Michelin Desert Racing tires on my KTM 450 EXC for a 500 mile ride in Baja with Malcolm Smith (the "MS" in MSR racing and a true racing legend).

I must say I was very pleased with their performance! The heavy sidewalls and tread kept me from getting flats while others on the ride who had traditional "track" tires on their motorcycles suffered flat after flat... I am really glad I had extra tubes on me, because I ended up giving them away to other riders with flat tires.

I did get a flat on the last day, but that was cause by a nail that would have gone through anything.

All in a great tire!

p.s. I was also running Michelin Heavy Duty tubes and think they make a great combination with these Michelin Desert Racing tires on my KTM 450 EXC.

Slippery when wet... or dry.

Comments about Michelin Desert Racing Motorcycle Tire:

I put these on a 2004 XR650L, off road they are unbeatable. But if you ride these on the street be careful they are much like ice skates. Turning sharp and hard braking on Mulholland (Rock Store) is just dangerous on these even after 350 road miles and nearly 150 dirt miles on them. The front tire washes out easily. The back tire is massive on this bike and has not been any thing but great. The one thing these tires have done for me is to make me drive a little slower on the road, but thats ok, because off road these tires make my big red pig nearly untouchable.

Comments about Michelin Desert Racing Motorcycle Tire:

These Desert Race tires are excellent offroad tires that also happen to be DOT approved. The on-road traction is a bit weak, but they are fantastic offroad. If you are looking for a long range road tire that can do some offroad, you'll want something else. These hook up very well in dirt, mud, rocks, and gravel. They tend to wander a bit in deep sand.
