    Comments about Mikuni Standard VM-Style Carbs:

    These carbs work great on older airhead BMWs. For the lney they are the best choice available. The only negative, is they don't give you a choice in jets, so you have to buy the correct size jets separately.

        Thank you for your question. The VM style carbs are primarilly for 2 stroke applications. 4 stroke applications require a flat slide carb like the Mikuni TM or TMX carbs. Keihin has an FCR carb for 4 stroke MX applications. You would need to know the mounting sizes for each end of the carb along with the bore size needed.         Thanks for the question. This is a universal product and is made to fit a wide range of motorcycles. Some modification may be required and we cannot guarantee fitment. Unfortunately we are not able to help with troubleshooting or provide mechanical advice for legal reasons. We do offer Haynes and Clymer manuals which help with troubleshooting and how to rebuild the machine.

        Thank you for your question. The VM style carbs have an enriching plunger built in the side of the carb body, commonly installed in off-road race applications. The VM carb also features easy access to the main jet by removing an access nut, making it unnecessary to remove float bowl every time. No this style does not need a choke cable.
