Comments about Motion Pro Mini Chain Press Tool:
A great product at a reasonable price. I just bought it to install the press-on side plate on a new 530 chain. It worked easily and perfectly.

Not a bad "Mini-Tool"
from Winter Garden, Florida
As part of the Motion Pro line of tools, I was confident that it would at least live up to casual use. The price is about what I would expect from something constructed as it is. Something more than $10 and less than $20. The tool itself is simple in construction. A close inspection of the tool reveals some slightly different depths for the machined channels on the compression plates that are supposed to go over the rivets/posts on the chain. I'm not entirely sure which side of the tool's plates are supposed to straddle the deeper channel, so logically I decided to use the deeper side for the part of the master link that moves. This seemed to be the right thing to do and the tool was able to compress the master link plate enough that I had no issue putting on the master link clip. The only downside to the tool is the lack of leverage. I have to use a channel lock to grip the tool as I tightened and compressed the link. It's a "mini-tool", and that explains why there is no handle attached and you need extra leverage. It's a neat tool, but you have to decide if it's adequate for the trail or the shop.I think I will place one in my trail toolbox and get a full size tool in the future.
Motion Pro Mini Chain Press Tool
Makes pressing on a master link easy. Just line it up on the pins and tighten the center pin.Small enough to fit in your tool bag.Great tool for the price.

The Motion Pro Mini Chain Press does the job - no need to pay more unless you are a shop mechanic. This tool is more than just O.K. for the rider who works on thier own bike.
