Nice quality product

I've owned the Scott brand stainless steel filter before. This one is very similar, but, I like the way it disassembles easy without dealing with a snap-ring. The nut on the housing is the same size as my drain plug so I only need one tool to change oil.

INITIAL COST VS LONG TERM SAVINGS

Although I haven't installed it yet on my 1981 CX500 Cafe racer project(on assignment in Iraq at time of review) I can only see the long term benefits of a re-usable oil filter. I average 400 miles/work week and knowing that a filter designed for racing/off road application is working instead of the normal aftermarket paper, my comfort level has grown dramatically. Now IF they would make one for my BMW K1200GT. Can't wait to see just how good of an overall performer it will be. If it performs as well as they claim, then I'll get one for my sailboat engine as well. Cafe racer & Sport touring and sailing IS the ONLY way to ride!!!

As a commuter who rides at least 300 miles a week, this filter is so worth the money. Straight out of the box, I could tell that this was high quality due to it's weight and finish. After swapping it for my K&N, I could notice an improvement in performance, not a huge amount, but enough to make it noticeable. The idea of a washable/reusable oil filter just makes so much sense economically and environmentally. After having to buy a new oil filter every month (should be every two weeks with the way I ride, but, that would be really expensive) I will have made my money back within just 7 months.I have yet to wash it and re-use it yet, so I will see how it holds up aftward. If I remember, I'll add an update later.
