I ordered the Progressive fork springs for the 1980 Gold Wing I am restoring. The original springs were wimpy compared to the new ones. I got out my calipers and found the wire in the Progressive coils is 5mm thick! I measured the stock Honda springs at 4mm for the long spring, and 3mm for the short; no wonder they sagged so much (after 90K miles). It's like riding a new bike.

First, let me say that I have PS fork spings in all my bikes, on-rode and off. I don't know why I waited so long to put them in my CBR1000F. The stock springs were way too soft for my 260lbs.
I installed the springs the lazy man's style. After removing the stock springs I istalled the PS springs without a spacer. Then with a pair of helping hands, I compressed the springs with 2 srewdriver shats inserted between coils at the top of the spring. Then my helper slipped in the slotted spacers that I had made out of the plastic pipe included with the springs. PS recommends 1.5 in. spacers so that the total spring and spacer length would equal the stock length. I made mine 1.75in. The total sag was measured to be 28mm at the front. For street use this should be set between 25-30mm. I used 410ml of a 10wt fork oil.
The front now does a better job soaking up sharp edged bumps but I think I'll replace the fork oil with something a little lighter to get a more plush ride.

this is the second set of progressive springs ive purchased. one for my bike and another for my friend. compared to the stock 30yr old springs in our xs850s these are amazing. they handle smoothly while keeping a nice firm ride. would recomend this product to anyone.

No cons for this one. Easy installation; noticeable change in performance, I had the fork air pressure cranked up and was still bottoming out on large bumps, then I installed these Progressive Springs...I haven't added ANY air to the forks(lowest setting) AND the ride is excellent, no bottoming out!
