Comments about Fly Butane Motorcycle Jacket:
Originally thought this Fly product line (Butane Jacket & pants) would be suitable for adventure riding. Both have poor hot weather venting and are definitely not water proof. The poor craftsmanship was evident right out of the box. The jacket and pant liners had open seams where the stitching missed the mark. The cheap zipper pull on the jacket broke off due to the (sealing)flaps getting repeatedly caught in the zipper. There were several sharp protrusions associated with zippers inside the jacket and pants when worn without the liners.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Butane not Waterproof
By justa rider
from dallas t x
I ride yearlong every day. It is my transportation. I need a jacket that keeps me warm and dry on those cold wet and windy days (or nights). The Butane had a tag that stated waterproof. No other jacket in the store made that claim. It is not waterproof in the most lenient of senses. I got very wet and cold every time I used it in the rain. I tried several things to abate the inundation but to no avail. This jacket is only waterproof under a Frogg Togg.
Crashed in one
By Just Some Guy
from Los Angeles, Ca.
I crashed in one at about 20 mph, I hit the front brake and the bike went down. My shoulder and elbow hit the ground and the armor absorbed the initial impact, but after that, I ended up with jacket rash on the elbow that hit the ground. The jacket took the brunt of it, and I am grateful, but I was surprised that I got a skinned arm, from the inside of the jacket.Still, it was a 100% better than the IDIOTS who ride in t-shirts and shorts. The jacket is meant for rain, so ventilation is a little slim. It's there, but it won't penetrate the waterproof liner. I have all the vents open on it, but, it isn't mesh and again, is really better for cool weather/damp weather. If it's hot, I unzip it a bit and does really make a difference. Still a sauna at a stop light, but I would rather sweat than bleed.Overall though, I am happy with it. I am glad I bought it.

BikeBandit has always been good to me then they went one more step.Samantha called me, was very nice, told me that I won a jacket. I got the jacket today may 13 still snow on the ground, to hot for my winter jacket.I took it for a ride, 50 miles and I had enough the jacket just wasn't fitting me. I stopped and took out the friggen armor, chucked it and WAL-La problem solved. After that was good. Pockets are very important and the best thing is the makers put them exactly where they need to be-- you move your hand to locate a pocket and it seams to magically appear. BikeBandit just keeps getting better. When I call they are alway very nice and do every thing they can to make you feel valued. Thanks again for your store--Kurt!
