Comments about Tour Master Sonora Air Motorcycle Jacket:

Never had a mesh jacket but had been studying all the brands and styles and finially decided on the Sonora jacket by TourMaster due to all its features, waterproof, insulation, mesh, and style.
Not having this jacket until just a few weeks ago, I've not had the chance to ride in any cooler weather than the low seventies but have worn the jacket in ninety plus degrees and so far I've been impressed with its function. Hot weather is still hot but having just the mesh shell on made the ride much more enjoyable, like riding in the shade. It was quite warm when stopped in traffic but a lot nicer while on the move vaporizing what sweat occurred. Being "shaded" the sweat provided extra cooling and wasn't blown away with the wind since it was somewhat shaded from the sun.
I used another light jacket under the mesh shell that i had to provide some wind resistance during the cooler temps of the late afternoon and early evening instead of zipping both of the removable liners that came included as part of the jacket setup which worked great much to my surprise.
At 6'3" and 280 lbs I normally use a XXXL but had to send it back and reordered a XXL that fit a lot better and wasn't as baggy feeling as the triple X was. The XXLfit perfectly and even has room for a Gerbings heated jacket for colder weather as well. I'd recommend this jacket to any rider that wants protection from the heat and vold as well as any unforseen crashes, style, and conveniounce of not having to pack a winter jacket, a rain suit, plus protection from summer's heat. I believe that this jacket will function as planned on the two week trip here in a couple of weeks without wasting space by having to carry a separate jacket for any weather conditions that we might incur.
Failed to mention that I also bought my wife the same jacket, in a woman's size and cut as well. I'll know more how well I'll be impressed after my trip to Colorado and SD.
I ride a 2012 BMW K1600 GTL and a 2007 BMW 1200 GS and believe this jacket will function perfectly for its intended use.

Comments about Tour Master Sonora Air Motorcycle Jacket:

This is and has been my daily jacket since 2010. I'm on my second one due to a get off. The insurance company insisted on buying me a new one. That first jacket is still usable, but looks a bit worse for wear.

I live in SoCal so it does not get as cold as some places (hey, I dig out the winter stuff when the temp goes below 70 ;) ), but this jacket works well down into the low 50s/high 40s and up over 100*. I use the twin liners based on the wind, temp, and rain. I seldom use rain gear unless it is pouring.

For a textile jacket, this is just about as good as it gets.

        Highly recommended.

Comments about Tour Master Sonora Air Motorcycle Jacket:

I wore this jacket for 7 straight hours yesterday and it more than exceeded my expectations! Started in 42 degree weather with 8-12 mile an hour winds and I was perfectly warm with just the jacket and a light sweater. By 1 pm the temperature was 70 degrees so I removed the thermal liner in about 3 minutes. The air flow through this jacket is great as it's a mesh jacket. By 6 pm the temps dropped and the winds picked up again so I put the liner back in which took about 5 minutes. There are plenty of pockets and the padding fits in all the right places. Also, it's very adjustable to fit one's exact build, I couldn't be happier. If you're looking for a multifunction jacket this is perfect!

Comments about Tour Master Sonora Air Motorcycle Jacket:

I live in the lovely Hill Country of Texas, so the weather is pretty warm all year round. I wanted a jacket that would breathe when it was 100 degrees, yet offer a warm liner when I want to head out in 40-50 degrees. The Sonora Air has both a full-sleeve quilted liner for warmth and a full-sleeve rain liner to keep you dry and offer a bit of extra wind resistance. The jacket fits perfectly, has a million pockets which lets me take everything I want except tools. Price was right, free shipping ... I love it ...

How much does the back length differ on the tall sizes? I was able to find the sleeve length differential, but can't find the back length anywhere.

Thanks for your question! The Tour Master Sonora Air Jacket that you are looking at would have a removable back pad but unfortunately not in the arms.

You can take the arm armour out. The velcro to access it is at the wrist right by the loop snap for the liner. However, this jacket has soft inner and hard outer armor, so much more abrassion resistant than some other jackets "foam" armor.
