Comments about Helix Hi-Vis Safety Vest:

This was a great add on for my all black Cortech GX Air 2. I ordered the size large vest, which fits nicely over my large size motorcycle jacket, even with all bulky liners in place. It has room to spare, and does not bind me up, but isn't too loose either. The open mesh design makes this a very lightweight article. The reflective stripes are sewn on, not glued on like some cheaper stuff. The zipper is easy to work, although it is the smaller european style zipper.

Do note that this is in fact a 3/4 length vest. I find that preferable. It makes it lighter, and it makes it easy to get into the real jacket side pockets. I don't think this is a MilSpec vest either if you have to ride on base, but you may be able to modify it (ID pocket?).

This vest is not made specifically for motorcycles either. However I can report that it works excellent as a motorcycle safety vest! It is in fact made for survey/forestry use and Helix has nothing to do with the design or manufacture. The 'pockets' are more like loose flaps of extra mesh material, and do not have any closures. There is no way you would put anything you cared about in them and then ride down the highway. There isn't even velcro closures but you could sew in your own I guess. That is really the only bad thing I can say about this vest, and since most of our jackets have many pockets and this vest is easy to open to get to your jacket, it really doesn't matter.

The vest is very bright and attention getting. It has a glow about it, that I hope lasts for some time before fading. I may even get some UV Scotch Guard or similar to spray over it. I went with the Orange. On the very first ride I could tell that people noticed me much better. I ride a black motorcycle and my black jacket was not helping me get noticed. With this vest on I really felt like there were several situations were I got noticed way before I would have before, and not only that I felt like I was given a wider berth in a few situations, and was even yielded to when I wouldn't have been. This was all on the very first 40 mile mixed highway/city ride!!

The vest gave me no trouble. It did not lift up or flutter even to speeds of 80MPH. In short, I did not even notice it, except that I noticed people were noticing me. If you like your current motorcycle jacket and just want to add some visibility, give this a try!!

PS - sorry these iPhone pictures don't do it justice.

      Thanks for your question!

Helix has not provided us with exact dimensions, It is made to cover the whole torso so you are visible to traffis when riding at evening/night time.

Thanks for your question! Yes, the back of this vest will look similar to the front with the same reflective strips.
